LITHOGRAPHIC POSTER BY LEANDRE
A lovely genuine poster from the early 1900’s, from a lithograph by Charles Leandre, illustrious and prolific French painter and caricaturist of the period, complete with printers’ stamp, and the added bonus of a hand written dedication to a friend and hand signed in pencil.
The work shows wonderful flowing detailed pencil lines making this picture especially eery, as is indeed the subject matter.
It is housed in a period glazed silvered frame with original framers’ label, so a genuine untouched piece of Art Nouveau, and a scarce example of his work (we could not find this image anywhere online, despite a wealth of information on the artist.)
Including frame: 106.5cm x 77cm
